Recycling Center Electrified Security Fence Project #1

Here we’re using railroad tracks for the corner posts because they had a large quantity available, and 4″ steel posts cost over $350 each. In this case we cut the rails to 18 to 20 ft. lengths. Because the soil was soft black dirt we were able to push the rails into the ground, using a scrap crane as the pile driver, as seen in the videos.

NOTE: Only do this with a skilled operator. One slip and the rail can sever a hydraulic hose, disabling the crane and making a mess.

Along the back side of the property, where there was no existing fence, we did the electric security fence as a freestanding array, saving the customer the cost of putting up a chain link fence.

The scrap crane was also very good at removing vegetation from the fence area, especially large limbs and trees.

The next video will have you holding your breath. Does the crane topple over the edge?
